There is no replacement for commonsense on the road. However, sometimes drivers need some solid knowledge and information about what they should do under certain circumstances if they are to stay safe out there. Knowing what to do about a tire blowout is a great example of this. When you have a tire blowout, it is best to remain calm and do what you can to get the vehicle over to the side of the road as soon as possible.

Turn on your emergency flashers to let others know what is going on, and call for help to get that tire replaced.

Before you ever end up in this scenario, consider looking for signs of tire damage that could lead to a blowout in the first place. Signs like a tire that has chunks missing out of it or issues with the wear on the tire are early warning signs that something could be about to go wrong. Address those immediately.
