The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer is the newest entrant in the well established full-size three-row SUV segment. A revived nameplate from the original Wagoneer SUV produced from the early 1960’s to the mid-90’s, this new Wagoneer retains the original’s body-on-frame construction, tall ride height and premium interior amenities. A brand new model from the ground up, the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer competes directly with well established models such as the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe and its corporate twin, the GMC Yukon. To make the research process easier for our customers, our team here at Fraser Chrysler has compiled the key features of both the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Chevy Tahoe to help simplify your vehicle research process.
Exterior Features
The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer features an elegant yet confident exterior that features timeless Jeep design cues, accentuating its capable off-road heritage. Muscular body-lines, large wheel arches with several available wheel designs and LED lighting accents perpetuate the Wagoneer’s capable yet upscale design. Owners can also take advantage of a plethora of standard features such as a power rear liftgate, power-folding heated mirrors, 20-inch aluminum wheels, cornering LED headlamps and rear load levelling suspension system.
On the other hand, the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe maintains its recognizable box-like exterior design, with modern accents such as LED head and tail lights, trim-exclusive front grille designs and stylish wheel design options. With six different trim levels to choose from, including a performance-oriented RST model with black-out accents, quad exhaust tips and 22-inch wheels, as well as a luxurious High Country model, there’s an ideal Tahoe for everyone.
Interior Features
The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer boasts a luxurious interior cabin that is filled with premium genuine materials, constructed with artisan-level craftsmanship and designed to provide its occupants with a comfortable and enjoyable riding experience. Premium comfort features such as an active noise control system and double-pane acoustic windshield provide a quiet and isolated cabin. While standard heated & ventilated front memory seats, three rows of premium leather-faced seats, power adjustable heated steering wheel and an Alpine® Premium Audio System provide an elegant interior cabin experience for its passengers.
On the other hand, the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe features a similar spacious interior cabin as the Wagnoeer, however, owners must opt for higher trim level models to receive interior features that come standard on even the entry-level Wagoneer models. For drivers looking to get leather seats, power tilt & telescoping steering wheel column, memory front seat settings, and an upgraded audio system, they must opt for the mid-trim LT and RST models and above. To receive the same premium materials and craftsmanship that even the entry-level Series II Wagoneers are appointed with, Chevy Tahoe customers must opt for the considerably more expensive Premier and range-topping High Country models.
Performance & Capability
New for the 2023 model year, the Jeep Wagoneer receives a powerful twin-turbocharged 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine that puts out 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque. Available on all but the entry level Wagoneer, this newly released engine is said to be as capable as the outgoing 5.7L HEMI V8 with eTorque, while being more fuel efficient and providing a smoother overall driving experience.

The standard engine is a 5.3L V8 that makes 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Owners can enjoy the standard 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 NAV multimedia touchscreen display with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto compatibility and 10.25-inch driver information display for easy access to the vehicle’s vital information. Those wanting to stay connected will also enjoy the Wagoneer’s standard 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, multiple chargeports, and built-in wireless charging pad.
The entry-level 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe LT comes standard with an 8-inch centre touchscreen display and a 4.2-inch digital driver information display. To get similar sized displays as the Wagoneer, Chevy Tahoe owners have to opt for higher trim LT models and above. Similarly, a handful of standard Wagoneer technology features must either be selected as a package option or be included as standard on a considerably more expensive, high trim level Tahoe. These features include a built-in wireless charger, adaptive cruise control, a premium audio system, and interior ambient lighting.
Pricing
The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer has a starting MSRP of $83,290* for the well-equipped entry-level Series II model, and can go up to a starting price of $94,985* for the range-topping Series III Carbide. Although the Tahoe may seem like the value-driven option, prospective owners must consider the fact that all 2023 Jeep Wagoneer models come with Jeep’s legendary 4×4 system as standard, engine options that boast best-in-class towing capabilities at 10,000 lbs maximum ratings and even the entry-level Wagoneer Series II models receive a plethora of convenience, technology and safety features that are optional equipment on the Chevy Tahoe.
